For some folks, this article may not be what they want to hear. But everyone needs to hear it.

I'm going to use my new favorite saying. You can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig. Many "marketeers" will tell you Affiliate Marketing as an easy way to make money online.

Sorry to say it's not.
Success requires lots of knowledge, guts and motivation. Those three things translate into:

Knowledge

Know your products. Know your competition. Know your strategy.

Guts

When you find an opportunity, move fast. There's no place in affiliate marketing for hesitation.

Motivation

Don't lose hope if a product or campaign doesn't perform to expectations. Don't get distracted from the goal.

So….. Where to start?

Here are some things to do to get you moving in the right direction:

1. Learn everything you can about Affiliate Marketing. Study this glossary.

3. Try some tools to give you an inside view of affiliate marketing. Finding profitable products and programs without tools is like finding a needle in a haystack.
